Starvessels

Starvessels are the names of any piloted manned vehicle capable of traversing through stellarspace, officially called 'soaring', with the exception of Mobile Stellae. Starvessels are seperated between military and civilian starvessels, civilian starvessels noted in order of smallest to largest; starplanes, starshuttles, starfreighters, starships, and starbases. Military starvessels noted in order of smallest to largest are; starfighters, starbombers, startransports, starcorvettes, stardestroyers, starcarriers, and Kaleidoscope-class starvessels.

Starplanes

Starplanes are privately owned starvessels typically carrying between one and twenty passengers. These are often compared to automobiles on planets. A typical starplane will cost between 25.000 TRD and 60.000 TRD. Starplanes have both a passenger compartment and a freight compartment, and use nuclear fusion to power their thrust generators.

As of January 1st 3371, starvessel companies Rhode, Alandinor, and Wesley, produce the most reknown starplanes.
Starplanes go by the abbreviation -SP.

Starplane Freighters

Starplane Freighters are just like starplanes in almost every aspect except for their large cargo capacities. What makes them different from starfreighters is that they are privately owned. Starfreighters are owned by either corporations, public sources, or a government. Starplane Freighters are owned individually, privately, like starplanes, in the same way that a cargo-hauling automobile may be privately owned. Starplane Freighters can typically carry between 10 metric tonnes and 40 metric tonnes of cargo.

Starplane Freighters go by the abbreviation -SPF.

Starshuttles

Starshuttles are mostly corporately owned starvessels similar to starplanes, with notable differences being that they carry between ten and a thousand passengers, and can cost between 55.000 TRD up to 1.200.000 TRD. Starshuttles are largely powered by nuclear fusion, however cheaper models may use nuclear fission. Starshuttles are often compared to buses or trams on planets, serving as public transporation, especially on Aresia and Mobile Stellae in the outer Sol system. It is worthy of note that just like buses, starshuttles can be privately owned or rented.

As of January 1st 3371, starvessel companies Rhode, Wesley, Celbus, and Galaxi produce the most renown starshuttles.
Starshuttles go by the abbreviation -SSH.

Starfreighters

Starfreighters are corporately, publicly, or governmentally owned starvessels that regularly haul freight. These starvessels can carry from 5.000 metric tonnes to 90.000 metric tonnes of freight, with their construction cost averaging between 500.000 TRD and 9.000.000 TRD. Starfreighters use nuclear fusion to power themselves. They can carry any type of cargo, whether it be solid, liquid, or gas. Freight compartments carrying solids are limited to be no larger than eight sqaure kilometers, and freight compartments carrying liquids or gasses are to be no larger than 500 square meters.

This means that the majority of freight compartments are deep into the interior of the starfreighter, which is the reason behind freightrail tunnels. Freightrail tunnels are extremely wide corridors between freight compartments, with large vacuumtight gates on every side, leading into freight compartments. This can turn any remotely large starfreighter into a maze to traverse, as an exact grid formation is typically never used in the layout of freightrail tunnels, as that could possibly leave a group of freight compartments detached from the hull of the starfreighter.

As of January 1st 3371, starvessel companies Celbus, Galaxi, Kuipera, Daleho, and Konoko produce the some of the most reknown starfreighters, alongside several dozen government-backed starfreighters.
Starfreighters go by the abbreviation -SF.

Starships

Starships are corporately or governmentally owned starvessels that transport several thousands of passengers across enormous distances, like the Ganymede-to-Mercury to Aresia-to-Uraniya routes. Starships are built for journeys lasting up to a week, and to house several thousand passengers and crew for that time. Starships are often compared to 'cruise ships' on Terra and Aresia. They are operated by either governments or corporations, the latter being called starlines. Starlines are comparable to 'cruise lines' and 'airlines'. The quality of each starline differs, and so do the ticket prices.

The current most popular starlines are Mercurspace, Venuspace, Terraspace-line, Deimos Soar Company, Dionia Soar, Kuipera Soar Company, Uraniyan Planetary Starline, and Tritonspace.
Starships go by the abbreviation -SS.
